Owning a car takes responsibilities. Depending on how well you take care of your vehicle, you may be having the experience you always dreamed to have or a total opposite. These basic ways can cause you to lose a lot of your money, efforts and time to repair it. The following are 6 ways that can harm your vehicle:

1. AVOIDING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

Costly repairs and engine problem will occur if the illuminated check engine light is being ignored. This would help prevent your vehicle from any engine problems that could give a negative impact on the fuel economy.

2. NOT CHANGING THE FLUIDS AND FILTERS.

Of course, everyone wants their vehicle to be in a good and stable condition. Changing the fluids and filter is recommended if you want your car to operate properly. Checking the fluids and filters regularly helps ensure that your components and vehicle systems are protected which also extends the vehicle life.

3. NOT CHECKING YOUR TYRES

It is important to frequently check your tyres for tread depth and inflation. If your tyres are under inflated, it can wear out even quicker and can give negative impacts on your vehicle gas mileage, safety and performance.

4. NOT FOLLOWING THE ONGOING MAINTENANCE.

Skipping the ongoing car maintenance won’t give you the experience you would want. The parts and components for many cars will soon be damaged or wear out if the vehicle is not serviced accordingly. Following the service schedule routinely helps to avoid having any inconvenient situation and more expensive repairs.

5. NOT KEEPING YOUR CAR CLEAN.

You may think that having a clean car is not important but that’s not true. Having a dirty car can also be quite dangerous as it can lead to the buildup of dirt and damaging chemicals which increases the chance for you to lose your visibility when driving. To prevent these contaminants such as dirt, dust, bug guts etc. from your vehicle can be by washing the exterior surfaces of your car.

6. NOT DRIVING PROPERLY.

There will always be a time where we see someone drive faster than they should, stopping and starting their car quickly, ignoring extreme weather, having heavy loads and going through bumpy roads. This will give a nothing but a negative impact on your vehicle. As for the weather, it is unexpected. It can be raining or foggy, but we should be able to control the speed of our vehicle reasonably.
